What is the difference between the "Concepts and Skills Series" and the "Practice and Review Series"?

Each of the programs in the "Concepts and Skills Series" teaches a one year course. The programs contain tutorials and a wealth of examples and problem solving exercises to help students develop problem solving skills. The tutorials are enriched by graphics and animation that visually enhance the teaching of math concepts.

The programs in the "Practice and Review Series" do not contain tutorials. Rather, they provide a broad range of "drill and practice" problem solving exercises, with explanations. The problems range from the simpler to the more challenging. The "Practice and Review Series" is often used, both in school and home learning environments, as a supplement to the "Concepts and Skills Series", allowing students to build their skills further.

For example, "Algebra 1 - Concepts and Skills Series" contains a lesson on solving distance-rate-time problems. The lesson contains a tutorial and a broad range of examples and practice problems. "Algebra 1 - Practice and Review Series" helps students build their problem solving skills further through additional problems, such as those involving a multi-step trip.
